If you’re looking for an easy way to make pulled pork for sandwiches, this is it. There’s only 4 ingredients, it takes just a few minutes of prep time, and the end result is delicious!
Here’s what you’ll need:
A crock pot
Pork Roast (I like to do 2 at a time. Usually about 3 pounds a piece.)
A 2 Liter bottle of root beer
1 package dry onion soup mix
1 or 2 bottles of your favorite BBQ sauce
Here’s what you do:
Put the pork in the crock pot. Sprinkle with the soup mix and pour in the root beer. You don’t have to use it all. In fact, you should save some for root beer floats to have after you enjoy your sandwiches.
Cover and let it go on low for 8 hours or so.
When it’s done cooking drain the liquid and use 2 forks to pull the pork apart.
Now you can choose to put the pork on a bun and top with BBQ sauce… or you can mix the BBQ sauce with the meat in the crock pot. If you choose the later option I’d let it sit on warm for a half hour to get everything heated through.
I prefer to leave the meat “dry” and let everyone choose how much sauce they want. Plus, I think the meat freezes better when it isn’t pre-sauced.
