A Summer tradition is about to take place in our town: Vacation Bible School! It’s a community wide event and this year our Church is the host Church.
I’m thankful for great volunteers who have given their own time to plan and prepare for this important event. I know not only what an undertaking it is… but also how rewarding it can be.
This is the last year attending for my youngest as she’ll be too old next year. She’s excited for Vacation Bible School because she gets to see her friends. Many she hasn’t seen since the end of the school year.
My oldest is too old to attend but she’s the perfect age to help out. She’ll be in the craft area for the week. I’ve spent some time getting the music and videos ready to play. From what I’ve already seen and heard I really think the kids will love it.
This week’s Bible verse is one that I’m sure all parents who have had a child attend Vacation Bible School can relate too. It’s 3 John 1:4 (NIV).
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
My prayer is that the kids have a fun week and take the message of Jesus home with them. I also pray for all the volunteers. May their faith be renewed and strengthened as they see faith grow in the young ones they’re shepherding.
