Weekly Verse – Teens On A Mission

It’s Spring Break week in our area.  A time for many to rest and relax… but not for a large group of teens.  They, along with a handful of adults, are spending Spring break doing mission work in Texas.

I’m friends with many of the people on the trip.  It’s been fun to log on to Facebook and see pictures and videos of all that they’re doing! I can tell that they’re strengthening friendships, making memories, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ through their hard work.

Those high schoolers are the inspiration for this week’s Bible verse. They are shining examples of 1 Timothy 4:12 (GNT).

“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for the believers in your speech, your conduct, your love, faith, and purity.”

Seeing pictures and videos of this mission trip is fun but I really look forward to hearing first hand accounts of their experiences.  Like many I’ll be praying for their work and safe travels home.

Have you ever been on a mission trip? Where did you go and what did you do? Is it an experience that stayed with you?
