Weekly Verse – Rest

It’s been an extremely busy Summer for my family.  I was hoping that our schedule might slow down with the absence of school but I think it’s actually been the opposite.

We’ve gone from one event to another without much of a break. There’s been softball, dance rehearsals, a trip to Kansas City for dance nationals, a family reunion camping trip, and all those appointments that we didn’t have time to get scheduled during the school year.

Most of that stuff was fun but our constant “on the go” status is starting to take its toll.  I’m ready for a break… and I think the rest of my family is too.

Our calendar is still pretty full for the rest of the Summer but it does look like it’s lightening up a bit… and I will be able to recognize the Sabbath for the next several weeks.  I really looking forward to that.

Keeping in mind the importance of the Sabbath, this week’s Bible verse is Hebrews 4:9-10 NIV.

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;  for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.
