Weekly Verse – Praying for the Garden & the Gardeners

This is the third year that our church has planted a very large garden with the goal of sharing the produce with the local food pantry.

The first two years were successful and from what I’ve seen and heard the garden is off to a great start this year!  While I have never participated in the garden’s planting or upkeep I have kept it in my prayers.

I’ve prayed for good weather and gentle rains.  I’ve prayed for those in need who receive the fresh produce.

I’ve also prayed for those who have spent time caring for the garden. For them I share this week’s verse, Galatians 6:9 NIV.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Will you do me a favor and pray for this food pantry garden and for those who will benefit from it?  If you’d like you can follow the garden’s progress here.

Do you have a garden?  What’s your favorite thing to grow?

If you enjoyed this please share it with your friends:

  1. Tony, this post means so much to me. We love the garden project and the people that benefit from the produce are so appreciative! Thank you for your prayers!

  2. Thank you for all your hard work. Maybe one of these days the girls and I will get our hands dirty pulling weeds with you.
