Weekly Verse – Count Your Blessings

I feel like this is a post I’ve probably written before but I’m too lazy right now to go back and check.  That said, it’s one I needed to write right now… and one I’ll probably need to write again in the future.

Negativity seems to be everywhere and if I’m not careful it can sneak into my thoughts.  I can get fixated on the little things that aren’t as perfect as I’d like in my life instead of focusing on all the blessing in my life.

A leaky washer, clothes dryer that won’t spin, or car that won’t start are insignificant when I see others hurting with real issues like job loss, tumors, or the death of a loved one.

There are many blessings in my life… and I need to remember to count those… and not focus on the insignificant annoyances of everyday life.  I need to remember to have faith and to trust in the Lord and the plans he has for me.

I need to remember Jeremiah 29:11(AMP).

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
