Week 16 Verse – Psalm 19:14

The verse I chose for this week is one I’ve heard hundreds of times. Maybe you have too… but this week I’m looking at it in a different context.  That verse is Psalm 19:14 (NRSV) which says:

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be

acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”

Pretty much the only time I’ve heard this verse, or a variation of it, has been by a Pastor before preaching a sermon.  It fits to say it there and makes sense.

But if you take that verse out of the Church service and apply it to life it also makes a great early morning prayer to say as you start your day!

Do you have a particular verse or prayer you say first thing every morning?  If so, I’d love to hear what it is.

If you enjoyed this please share it with your friends:

  1. Psalm 140:8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go for to you I lift up my soul.
