If you were to ask me where am I most relaxed my answer would be easy. It’s around a campfire surrounded by family and friends!
This Wordless Wednesday has me looking forward to our annual family reunion camping trip. You can read about last year’s outing here.
I have a love hate relationship with squirrels. I love to watch them. I love their work ethic… but there’s a lot about them that I really hate!
I hate how destructive they can be. We once had squirrels destroy a backyard swing by chewing holes in the canvas. They’ve gnawed on our bird feeders and birdhouses too.
One really frustrated me a few years ago. I witnessed, on several occasions, this squirrel pick an apple from our tree, sit on a branch and eat half of it, only to let it drop to the ground and pick another one.
I took this squirrel’s picture the other night.
I’ve noticed him hanging around on our roof lately. This one annoys me because it’s a reminder that I need to get the ladder out and clean our gutters. I’m sure he’s just up there feasting on maple seeds trapped in the gutter.
How about you? Are you a fan of squirrels?
It’s Summertime and that means camping, cookouts, and barbecues. A dessert staple at a lot of these events is the simple… but very tasty s’more.
Because of my youngest’s peanut allergy always we’ve stuck with just using plain Hershey Bars and haven’t experimented with different candy bars.
This Summer at our annual family reunion camping trip we will try something new! We saved a package of Peeps from Easter and will roast those instead of marshmallows. I’ll be sure and give you an update.
What’s your favorite way to make a s’more?
