You might have noticed over the past few months that I’ve taken an interest in making and sharing videos. Mostly videos of me cooking some of my family’s favorite recipes.
I’ve enjoyed doing them for a couple of reasons. First, I get to learn some new programs and work on my video editing skills.
Second, I get to have fun with my oldest daughter who has embraced her role as my director, videographer, and even my make-up artist (darn blemishes).
When we make videos I’ll often mess up and that will get us laughing. There have been times I’ve wondered if we actually got enough good footage in between my mistakes and us cutting up… but it’s always worked out in the end.
It’s good to laugh… and it’s good to share a laugh with others! So I thought I’d put together a video of some of the funniest bloopers, outtakes, and behind the scenes moments from our recent efforts. You can see it below. I hope it makes you smile and gives you a laugh or two.
I also thought I’d use this opportunity to share a Bible verse that touches on the topic of happiness and laughter; Proverbs 17:22 MSG.
A cheerful disposition is good for your health;
gloom and doom leave you bone-tired.
It’s been a week of changes at work. After having the same office for more than 16 years I moved into a new workspace.
I’ll be honest… at first, I really didn’t want to move. I had my space. It was comfortable. It was what I knew. It was all I knew in this building, as I had occupied the same office since my company relocated there in 2001.
There was an upside to the move that had me just a little bit excited… I was moving into my own recording studio/office. I could set it up the way I wanted. It would also give me the freedom to schedule client recordings whenever I want without having to reserve a studio.
Another benefit to changing offices is that I was forced to finally get rid of years of “stuff” that had accumulated and was filling up my office cabinets and credenza.
Now that I’m all moved I have to say that switching offices has been a positive experience. Purging and cleaning during the move were freeing and being in a new space has given me a creative energy and spark.
While my physical office move was happening this week there was another change taking place. We were converting to a new “behind the scenes” computer system.
This conversion brought its’ own set of challenges but it’s also been a little exciting. After years of using the same system, it’s been a welcome challenge to learn a new program and figure out how I can use it to get things done and be more productive.
I’m not going to lie, though… both changes have brought some frustrations too. Through them all, I tried to remember Joshua 1:9 NIV.
